During my recent visit to London I had a number of valuable meetings with representatives of the British Government, both in the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office and at Westminster, in the Houses of Parliament. This was important, as with a new Labour Government now in place, I wanted to ensure that there was real awareness in the UK concerning the importance of Libya today, and the international significance of what may happen next. I was very happy at the level of interest shown. This is something to build on.
I am seen here at Westminster with Lord McNichol, Patron of the Labour Middle East Council.
